Project Location: Worthing, West Sussex

The Brief

Our clients approached us to design an extension that would better connect their home to the garden. The existing layout felt disconnected, limiting both family interaction and enjoyment of the outdoor space.

A key challenge was the north-facing garden, which restricted natural light entering the property. Creating a brighter, more open environment while strengthening the visual and physical relationship to the garden was central to the brief.

Our Proposal

We proposed a rear extension designed to maximise both light and connection to the outdoors. A carefully considered 45-degree angled wall maintains strong visual links across the plot, drawing the garden into everyday living spaces.

To enhance natural light, we specified large areas of glazing alongside a reflective, washable wall finish. This combination helps bounce daylight deeper into the plan, improving brightness in the heart of the home and creating a more uplifting, usable family space.
